Movers & Shakers from July

Kier Group

Have announced the appointment of Stuart Togwell as Chief Executive Officer beginning 1 November 2025. This follows the news of current Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Davies, retiring.

Togwell will move internally from his position as Group Manging Director for Construction and Executive Director.

 

SPL Powerlines UK

Have announced the promotions of three key members to their senior leadership team.

Lee Pounder has been appointed as Regional Managing Director – Scotland & Ireland. Pounder moves internally from his position as Scotland Regional Director – Scotland & Ireland.

Steve McWhan has been appointed as Regional Managing Director – England & Wales. McWhan moves internally from his position as Regional Director – England & Wales.

Finally, David Bell has been appointed as UK&I Group Commercial and Special Projects Director. Bell also moves internally, from his position as Group Commercial Director.

 

Arriva Group

Have announced the appointment of Martijn Gilbert as Managing Director for its Arriva UK Bus business unit. Gilbert joins from FirstGroup plc, where is currently Managing Director, Open Access, Tram & Cable (First Rail).

 

Great British Energy

Have announced the appointment of Dan McGrail as the permanent Chief Executive Officer. McGrail has been in the role on an interim basis for the past four months.

 

Mott MacDonald

Have announced the appointment of Andy Clarke as Divisional Development Manager for Heavy Infrastructure. Clarke joins from Costain Group, where he was Director for Integrated Transport.

 

Capital Investments (CI)

Have made three major changes to their leadership team.

Niall Butler has been appointed Delivery Director and will start in October. Butler joins from Dublin Airport, where he is Head of Delivery.

Fiona O’Sullivan has been appointed as Commercial Director. O’Sullivan joins from Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, where she is Programme Manager.

Tim Brain has been appointed as Railway Systems Director, starting in December. Brain comes from Cross River Rail in Brisbane, where he is currently Senior Systems Integration Manager.

 

WSP in the UK & Ireland

Stuart McLaren has been appointed as Head of Nuclear and Energy Sector Director. McLaren joins from AtkinsRéalis, where he was Global Sustainability Growth Director.

 

Sizewell C

Have appointed Ana Maria Castillo Serna as Commercial Director – Civils Programme. Serna joins from Network Rail, where she was Commercial Director – Capital Delivery.

 

Mace

Have announced the appointment of Alasdair Reisner as Advisory Director. Reisner joins from the Civil Engineering Contractors Association, where he was Chief Executive.

 

Keller

Chief Executive, Michael Speakman, will be stepping down from his position to ‘continue with his necessary medical treatment’. His successor has yet to be announced.

 

Network Plus

Have appointed Dave Prescott as Chief Operating Officer. Prescott moves internally from his position as Manging Director. 

 

Skanska UK

Have appointed Dean Sporn as Operations Director within its UK Infrastructure division. Sporn joins from National Highways, where he is currently Director – Regional Investment Programme (South).

 

Worley

Paul Goodchild has been appointed as Vice President, EMEA Major Projects and Programs Business Development. Goodchild joins from KBR, Inc, where he was Vice President of Business Development.

 

London Southend Airport

Have appointed Lisa Price as Director of People and Internal Communication. Price joins from PPHE Hotel Groups, where she was Regional Director People & Culture UK.
