Description
Our client, a major UK infrastructure owner, is seeking to appoint a Project Director to lead the redevelopment and expansion of a high-profile passenger hub within a key rail terminus station. This complex, multi-phase programme will deliver major enhancements to passenger areas and station layout, with the aim of increasing capacity, improving resilience, and preparing for future service growth.
The redevelopment will take place within a live, operational transport hub that serves various routes and accommodates a significant volume of daily passengers. As such, the programme demands a careful balance between infrastructure delivery, commercial continuity, and passenger experience.
The appointed Project Director will take on full accountability for strategy, governance, stakeholder alignment, and delivery. The role will require close collaboration with a broad set of internal and external partners, including transport operators, regulators, government stakeholders, and commercial tenants.
We are seeking a senior leader with proven experience in the successful delivery of large-scale, complex infrastructure projects, previous experience of major rail station, airport terminal or other transport interchanges would be an advantage. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of delivering projects in operational, high-footfall environments where continuity of service is critical. A deep understanding of stakeholder management, governance processes, and project risk is essential.
This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the UK’s most strategically important station upgrade programmes - a role that combines leadership, complexity, and national profile.
