Movers and Shakers from July

Balfour Beatty plc

Have announced the appointment of Angus Murray as Managing Director of its UK Major Projects Business. Murray will move into the role 1 September from his position as Chief Executive of Connect Plus, the consortium that includes Balfour Beatty, responsible for managing and operating the M25 network on behalf of National Highways.

Succeeding Murray is Álvaro del Palacio Tornos. Alvaro will join the role from Cintra (Ferrovial Group), where he is currently Director General of a Cintra concession.

They have also announced the appointment of Lee Hewitt as Group Business Services Director. Hewitt moves internally from his position as Group Health, Safety and Wellbeing Director.

Finally, Steve Helliwell, Managing Director at Balfour Beatty Living Places announced that he retired as of the end of June.

 

FirstGroup plc

Mike Nelson has been appointed as Managing Director of First Rail, succeeding Steve Montgomery who has retired. Nelson moves internally from his position as Finance and Strategic Development Director at First Rail.

 

Network Rail

Have announced the appointment of Denise Wetton as Integrated Managing Director for Great British Railways West Midlands.

 

Sizewell C

Have announced the appointment of Jon Loveday as Chief Commercial Officer. Loveday joins from the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority (NISTA), where he was Director of Infrastructure, Cabinet Office and HM Treasury.

 

Ferrovial

Have announced the appointment of John L. Morton as CEO of its Airport Division, succeeding Luke Bugeja who has announced his retirement. Morton joins in September from Global Infrastructure Partners (Blackrock) where he was Managing Director (Transportation).

 

Mott MacDonald

Have announced the appointment of Dean Radeloff, President and CEO for North America and Aimee Barwick, former Divisional Manager for the Northeast United States to its Executive Board.

Their appointments follow Paul Bentley, Director in Mott MacDonald’s contracting business, JN Bentley, becoming member of the Board earlier in the year.

Wates

Have appointed Gareth Rhys Williams to the Wates Enterprise Board as Non-Executive Director. Gareth currently holds multiple Chair and Non-Executive roles including Chair at National Highways.

Additionally, Regional Managing Director - UK East, David Wingfield, and Commercial Director - UK East, Kyle McGrory, have left the business with immediate effect. Their responsibilities are being covered by executive Managing Director, Steff Battle in the interim.

Finally, Kevin Grace has been appointed as Commercial Director for the London business at Wates Construction. Grace joins from Mace, where he was Operations Director – Commercial (Construction).

 

Ansaldo Nuclear

Have appointed Kason Bala as Managing Director. Bala joins from Framatome UK, where he was Chief Corporate Development Officer.

 

East Midlands Railway (EMR)

Neil Grabham has been appointed as Interim Managing Director following the announcement of Will Rogers stepping down from the position with immediate effect. Grabham joins from Merseyrail, where he was also Managing Director.

 

Merseyrail

Succeeding Grabham is Suzanne Grant. Grant moves into the role on an Interim basis from her position as Chief Commercial Officer and Deputy Managing Director.

 

Greater Thameslink Railway

Have announced the appointment of Steve White as Managing Director of the new Integrated business unit (IBU), Greater Thameslink Railway. White will join the position later this year from Southeastern Railway, where he is currently Managing Director.

 

AtkinsRéalis

Have appointed Ian Dyck as Global Market Lead – Water. Dyck joins from AECOM, where he was Senior Vice President – Canada Water.

 

Heathrow

Kerry Bangle has been appointed as Surface Access Director. Bangle joins the role in September from WSP, where she is currently Head of Complex Projects Advisory.

 

DfTO

Have appointed Ian McConnell as Rolling Stock Director. McConnell joins from West Midlands Trains, where he was Managing Director.

 

SGN

Kerri Rogan has been appointed as Director of Operations – South East. Rogan joins from Thames Water, where she was Director of Strategic Operations, Transformation & Performance.

 

EirGrid Group

Adam Cronin has been appointed as Head of Offshore. Cronin joins from DP Energy Group, where he was Chief Operating Officer.

 

Amey

Have appointed Jonathan Goring as Executive Advisor. Goring joins from NEOM, where he was Executive Director and Head of Operations.

 

South Yorkshire Future Trams Limited (SYFTL)

Have appointed Stéphanie Rivet as its new Chair. Stéphanie currently serves in Non-Executive Director positions with Edinburgh Trams and Lothian Buses.

 

TYPSA

Have appointed Stephen Russell as Strategic Growth Director UK & Ireland. Russell moves internally from his position as Director Transport & Infrastructure – UK & Ireland.

 

Railway Industry Association (RIA)

Have announced the appointment of Simon Scott as Technical & Innovation Director. Scott joins from Fujitsu, where he was UK Transport and Logistics Account Director.

Ramboll

Michelle Hayhurst has been appointed as Head of Department – Transport UK&I. Hayhurst joins from Ridge and Partners LLP, where she was Partner.

 

Ridge and Partners LLP

Jack Mumford-Turner has been appointed as Associate Partner. Mumford-Turner joins from Aqua Consultants, where he was Business Unit Director Advisory.

 

Savills

Georgie Harding-Edgar has been appointed as Director – Head of Major Projects within its Infrastructure team. Harding-Edgar joins from Vattenfall, where she was Lead Land Manager.
