Movers & Shakers from June

Balfour Beatty

Have announced a rejig of its UK operations at Divisional Chief Executive level, with a new post created to bring all their Transport business units together under a new Divisional Chief Executive Transport. There have also been some shifts of business units between Divisional Chief Executive portfolios.

Nick Crossfield will become UK Defence, Power & Regional Infrastructure Divisional Chief Executive and Phil Clifton will become UK Energy & Major Projects Divisional Chief Executive.

UK Transport brings together UK Rail, UK Highways, and Balfour Beatty Living Places into a single business portfolio. Recruitment for the Divisional CEO is ongoing.

In addition to these changes, Nigel Roberts has been appointed as Group Commercial Director. Roberts moves internally from his position as Commercial Director Major Projects and Highways.

They have also announced the appointment of Ed Egerton as Chief Legal and Commercial Officer. Egerton joins the role in September from AtkinsRéalis, where he is currently Deputy General Counsel.

 

Lanes Group

Have announced the appointment of Joanne Gretton as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Wayne Earnshaw. Gretton moves from Telent, where she was also Chief Executive Officer.

 

British Land

Have appointed Jo McNamara as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Simon Carter. McNamara will join the role in November from Oxford Properties, where she is currently EVP, Europe & Asia.

 

AECOM

Have announced the appointment of Eloise John as Managing Director of Energy for Europe and India. John moves internally from her position as Business Unit Director Energy.

They have also announced the appointment of Angela Mulgrew as Managing Director, Environment. Mulgrew moves internally from her position as Director of Environment.

 

Ferrovial

Have announced the appointment of Alastair Dick as Managing Director of its construction business in the UK & Ireland. Dick joins from Bechtel Corporation, where he was UK Head of Business Development, Bechtel Infrastructure.

 

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport’s (SPT)

Have announced the appointment of Jamie Ross as Chief Executive Officer. Ross joins from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, where he is currently Director of Transport.

 

South East Water

John Halsall has been appointed as CEO-Designate, succeeding David Hinton, who announced that he was stepping down from the role. Halsall previously served as Chief Operating Officer as Pennon Group Plc.

 

Trainline

Have announced the appointment of Ian Brown as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Jody Ford, who announced that he is stepping down from the position. Brown will join the role in September, having previously been CEO – UK & Ireland at Flutter Entertainment Plc.

 

Tilbury Douglas

Have appointed Simon Butler as Managing Director of its Regional Building business. Butler moves internally from his position as Managing Director – Building Central.

 

Mace Construct

Have appointed Tony Arthurton as Interim Chief Financial Officer while the business recruits a permanent successor to David Allen. Arthurton moves internally from his position as Group Finance Director.

Arthurton succeeds current Chief Financial Officer David Allen, who has announced he is leaving the company.

 

The Go-Ahead Group

Angie Doll has been appointed as Managing Director Rail, Australia and New Zealand. Doll moves internally within the group from Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), where she was Chief Executive Officer.

 

Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR)

Succeeding Angie Doll is John Whitehurst. Whitehurst moves internally from his position as Chief Operating Officer.

 

Kier Group

Have appointed Barry Jupp as Managing Director of Kier Highways within its Infrastructure division. Jupp moves internally from his position as Finance Director for Transportation.

They have appointed Niki Steel as Chief Human Resources Officer. Steel joins from IMI, where she is currently Chief People Officer – Sector Operations.

Additionally,  Rachel Warren has been appointed as Group Finance Director (Transformation & Finance Shared Services). Warren joins from Michelmersh Brick Holdings PLC, where she was Chief Financial Officer.

Finally, Samantha Coughlan has been appointed as Chief Information Officer. Coughlan moves internally from her position as Solution Delivery Director.

 

Amey

Have appointed Stephen Knott as Chief Operations Director for the Amey Consulting division. Knott moves internally from his position as Business Director – Strategic Highways in Amey Transport Infrastructure division.

They have appointed Robert Anderson as Vice President to lead growth in the United States. Anderson joins from JLL, where he was Senior Vice President – Clean Energy & Infrastructure. He also rejoins Amey, having most recently been their Bid & Project Director (EV) in the UK in 2019.

 

AtkinsRéalis

Byron Bright has been appointed as President – US. Bright joins from KBR, where he was Chief Operations Officer.

They have also appointed Jacob Bacon as Director, Project & Program Management. Bacon moves internally from his position as Associate Director.

 

Ward Williams

Caroline Lassen has been appointed as Partner. Lassen joins from Mace, where she was Global Head of Project, Programme and Construction Management for Mace Consult.

 

Mace Consult

Matthew Botelle has been appointed as Global Project and Programme Management (PPM) Director. Botelle moves internally from his position as Global Major Programmes Director.

 

WSP

Have appointed Ruth Bailey as Deputy Chief Operating Officer in the UK & Ireland. Bailey joins from AtkinsRéalis, where she was Operations Director.

 

Turner & Townsend

Steve Hudson has been appointed as Director - Infrastructure. Hudson joins from Sir Robert McAlpine, where he was Executive Managing Director Infrastructure.

 

Keltbray

Have announced the appointment of Lee Cain as Chief Operating Officer. Cain moves internally from his position as Managing Director – Built Environment.

They have also announced the appointment of Tom Smith a Group Commercial Director. Smith moves internally from his position as Head of Data Centres.

 

Arriva Group

Have announced the appointment of Nick Pulford as Chief Financial Officer. Pulford has held numerous positions across finance, including previously VP Operational Finance at AECOM and Global Finance Director at WSP.

They have also announced the appointment of Stephanie Kearney as Arriva’s first Chief Technical Officer. Kearney will join the role in August from Kuehne+Nagel, where she is currently SVP Contract Logistics EMEA.

Hilary Tysoe has been appointed as Group People Director. Tysoe moves internally from her position as UK People Director.

 

SGN

Have appointed Tricia Wright as Chief People Officer. Wright joins from Transport for London, where she was Group Human Resources Director.

 

Transport for London (TfL)

Have announced two new appointments to the Board.

Laura Shoaf CBE joins June 29th, bringing strengths in safety and security.

Alison Munro CBE joins September 7th, succeeding Mark Philips. Munro brings strengths in audit and risk and assurance.

 

Collen Construction

Tim Smith has been appointed as Group Commercial Director. Smith moves from John Sisk & Son Ltd, where he was Commercial Director.

 

Ramboll

Have announced the appointment of Simon Jefferson as Water Sector Lead for the UK and Ireland. Jefferson joins from Alder and Allan, where he was Water Sector Director.

 

Bachy Soletanche

Have appointed Martin Stanley as Technical Director. Stanley moves internally from his position as Divisional Director – South.

Succeeding Stanley is Balint Madar. Madar joins from Skanska (Cementation), where he was Project Director.

 

STRABAG UK

Following the acquisition of Van Elle, Mark Cutler moves into an advisory role across the wider STRABAG UK business. Cutler moves from his position as Chief Executive Officer of Van Elle.

Strabag have appointed Malcolm O’Sullivan and Matt Love into joint Managing Director positions of Van Elle. O’Sullivan moves internally from his position as Chief Operating Officer, whilst Love also moves internally from his position, where he was Group Preconstruction Director.

 

National Express UK Bus

Have announced the appointment of Sarah East as Managing Director. East moves from National Express Ltd, where she was Regional Operations Director – Midlands.

 

Geobear

Jon Chevin has been appointed as Commercial and Infrastructure Director. Chevin joins from Balfour Beatty plc, where he was Ground Improvements Operations Manager.
