Movers & Shakers from March

London City Airport

Have announced the appointment of Andy Cliffe as CEO, succeeding Alison FitzGerald. Cliffe joins from Macquarie Asset Management, where he is currently Operating Partner. Macquarie has also held a few CEO positions such as AGS Airports and the M6Toll.

 

EDF

Mark Hartley has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Hinkley Point C project, beginning July 1. This appointment will succeed Stuart Crooks who is stepping down from the position after 40 years in the nuclear industry. Crooks will become a Non-Executive Board member for Sizewell C and EDF’s Nuclear Operations Business.

Hartley is currently Managing Director of EDF’s Nuclear Operations and will return to Hinkley Point C, where he was Technical Director until 2023.

Succeeding Hartley is John Munro. Munro moves internally from his position as Director of Nuclear Operations.

 

Gleeds

Have announced the appointment of David Johnson as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Graham Harle who moves into the role of Non-Executive Director, remaining on the Gleeds Group Board. Johnson moves internally from his position as Chief Operating Officer.

Succeeding Johnson is Brain McArdle, moving internally from his position as UK Managing Director.

Finally, succeeding McArdle’s role is Andy Ellis. Ellis also moves internally from his position as Managing Director, Gleeds Energy.

They have also announced the appointment of Neil Walker as Senior Director. Walker joins from AtkinsRéalis, where he was Regional Managing Director North & Midlands.

 

Barratt Redrow

Have appointed Dean Banks as CEO. Banks joins from Ventia, where he was Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. He is also the former Chief Executive Officer of UK Construction Services at Balfour Beatty plc.

 

Serco

Have appointed Fiona Walters as CEO in the UK & Europe. Walters joins from G4S, where she was Regional CEO, UK & Ireland.

 

Skanska

Lee Marks has been appointed as Executive Vice President, Building. Marks joins from Permasteelisa Group, where he was Group Chief Operating Officer.

 

Agilia Infrastructure Partners

Have announced the appointment of Julia Pyke as Executive Chair. Pyke joins from Sizewell C, where she was Joint Managing Director.

 

AtkinsRéalis

Have made three new appointments:

Ian Spellacey has been appointed as Market Director, Strategic & Regional Highways. Spellacey moves internally from his position as Client Director – Strategic Highways. He succeeds Peter Baynham who has been appointed as Sector Director Lead – Complex Projects.

Sarah Price has been appointed as Practice Director for Transport Advisory & Consultancy. Price also moves internally from her position as Transformation Programme Director.

 

Arup

James Merrett has been appointed as Director – Integrated Controls PPM. Merrett joins from Costain, where he was Consulting Programme Director.

They have also appointed Colin Smerdon as Energy Advisory Director. Smerdon joins from Jacobs, where he was SSE Frameworks Director, Energy & Power Europe.

 

Northumbrian Water Group (NWG)

Blair Mitchell has been appointed as Asset Management Director. Mitchell joins from WSP in the UK, where he was Managing Director for Water.

 

Mott MacDonald

Have made two new appointments to their Aviation, Maritime, and Offshore business.

Jason Buckland has been appointed as Aviation Director. Buckland joins from Infrata, where he was Director.

Kim Yates has been appointed as Sustainable Aviation and Green Ports Market Lead. Yates moves internally from her position as Director – Climate Change and Sustainability.

 

WSP in the UK & Ireland

Have appointed Andrew Doyle as Country Director Ireland. Doyle joins in April from Egis in Ireland, where he was Country Director (Transportation).

They have also appointed Gabriel Alhucema-Brown as PMCM Energy Sector Growth Lead. Alhucema-Brown joins from Amentum, where he was Operations & Business Development Director – Advanced Energy.

 

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure

Have announced the appointment of Gary Shuttleworth as Defence Director. Shuttleworth moves internally from his position as Strategic Development Director for Infrastructure.

GB Railfreight

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, John Smith, is stepping back from his position. His successor has yet to be announced.

Additionally, the company have made two new appointments:

Liam Day has been appointed as Interim Managing Director. Day moves internally from his position as Asset Director.

Ian Langton has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer. Langton also moves internally from his position as Production Director.

 

M Group

Have announced the appointment of Richard Scott as its first Corporate Affairs Director. Scott joins from Costain Group plc, where he was Director of Corporate Affairs, Internal & External Communications, and Reputation Management.

 

London Gatwick

Have announced the appointment of Chris Elliott as Capital Programmes Director, Terminals. Elliott joins from the UK Parliament, where he was Managing Director, Strategic Estates.

Have appointed Edgar Vila Pouca as Programme Manager. Edgar joins from Highways England, where he was Programme Leader.

 

Rock Group

Have appointed of Miguel Parras as Partner and Head of New Sector Investments. Parras joins from The Go-Ahead Group, where he was Group Chief Executive Officer.

Arriva London

Have appointed Wasim Mohammed as Managing Director. Mohammed moves internally from his position as Group Safety Director.

 

McGee

Michael Collins has been appointed as Commercial Director. Collins joins from Sir Robert McAlpine, where he was Infrastructure Deputy Commercial Director.

 

BGEN Ltd

Have announced the appointment of Ian Marlow as Managing Director for the newly established Infrastructure Strategic Business Unit (SBU). Marlow joins from Dalkia UK, where he was Managing Director, Nuclear Operations.

 

Tilbury Douglas

Andrew Taylor has been appointed as Commercial Director - Infrastructure. Taylor joins from Balfour Beatty plc, where he was Head of Commercial – South in UKCS.

 

John F Hunt Regeneration

Have appointed Chris Leary as Water Director. Leary joins from Galliford Try, where he was Operations Director.

 

Speedy Hire

Have announced the appointment of Judith Cottrell as Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Paul Rayner who is retiring from the position. Cottrell will join the role in July from Ricardo plc, where she is currently Group Chief Financial Officer.

 

NG Bailey (OSM)

Paul Wylie has been appointed as Managing Director of Offsite Manufacturing (OSM). Wylie moves internally from his position as Director of OSM.

 

Mace Consult

Have appointed Christopher McMahon as Country Director for Saudi Arabia. McMahon joins from Jacobs, where he was Executive Programme Director.

 

South East Water UK

Paul Lonsdale has been appointed as Investment Delivery Director. Lonsdale joins from Balfour Beatty plc, where he was Delivery Director – Anglian Water @one Alliance.

 

QTS Group

Have made three new appointments:

Adam Jordan has been appointed as Director of Engineering. Jordan moves internally from his position as Senior Development Manager.

Tony Vozniak has been appointed as HSQE Director. Vozniak joins from Ardent Hire Solutions Ltd, where he was SHEQ Director.

Finally, Bruno Martin has been appointed as Strategy and Technical Director. Martin joins from QTS Data Centres, where he was Director Pre Development – Europe.
