Transport Infrastructure Ireland has awarded KeolisAmey a €1.3bn contract to operate and maintain Dublin’s Luas light rail system. The contract runs for a core term of seven years, with an option to extend up to a further six years. Transdev were the incumbent operator.
Metrolinx has awarded Alstom a CAD $1.3bn five-year contract extension to operate and maintain GO Transit and UP Express rail services in Toronto. The extension continues Alstom’s existing operations and maintenance role across the commuter and airport rail fleets.
ScotRail and Beacon Rail have awarded Alstom a £250m, 10-year contract to support and refurbish the Class 222 fleet.
Alstom will provide technical support, spares supply and modernisation for 22 trains, with an option to extend to 2042. The scope includes maintenance support and a major refurbishment programme to improve reliability and passenger experience.
Network Rail has awarded a £98.5m contract to AtkinsRéalis for the Havant Relock & Re-control project in Wessex.
The three-year programme covers signalling and telecoms upgrades across 43km near Portsmouth.
The contract is let via Network Rail’s Train Control Systems Framework under the Southern Renewals Enterprise.
Network Rail has also awarded an Arcadis-AtkinsRéalis joint venture to a programme management role on the TransPennine Route Upgrade. The framework is valued at up to £100m over five years, with an option to extend by up to eight years.
The JV will deliver project and programme management, controls, risk and commercial oversight for the scheme.
Network Rail has awarded Amey a contract to deliver multi-disciplinary rail consultancy services on the Leeds-Sheffield corridor, as part of its Development and Design Partnership Framework supporting the Northern Powerhouse Rail programme.
The framework, awarded last year, includes Arup-SYSTRA, AtkinsRéalis-Arcadis, Mott MacDonald-WSP and Amey.
Under the contract, Amey will develop design solutions to increase capacity, improve journey times and enhance network performance.
Exo has awarded Transdev a 10-year contract to operate and maintain Greater Montréal’s commuter rail network. The contract includes a one-year mobilisation phase from July 2026, with an option to extend by up to four years. The work covers network operations and maintenance following a two-year competitive tender process.
National Highways has appointed Kier, John Graham Construction and John Sisk & Son to a £968m, six-year framework to reconstruct ageing concrete roads across England.
The six-year Legacy Concrete Roads Reconstruction (LCRR) framework covers design and construction, including demolition, pavement replacement and traffic management.
The framework will run from 2026 and is intended to align with the government’s third Road Investment Strategy (RIS3) funding period covering 2026-31, while overlapping with the start of RIS4 from 2031-36.
National Highways has also awarded GeoPura a contract to supply green hydrogen for the Lower Thames Crossing project.
GeoPura will provide around 2,500 tonnes of hydrogen as a managed service, including delivery, storage and distribution during construction. The supply will replace diesel use across site operations to support carbon-neutral construction.
Southampton City Council has awarded a highways maintenance contract to Balfour Beatty Living Places.
The contract is valued at around £60m. The work covers maintenance and improvement of the city’s highway network and associated assets.
The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham have awarded M Group Highways a five-year maintenance contract for street lighting.
The scope of works includes the full spectrum of street lighting term maintenance, emergency callouts, installation of new assets, as well as capital funded schemes.
The New Hospital Programme has appointed 10 contractors to its £37bn, 12-year Hospital 2.0 Alliance framework.
The framework will support the design and construction of new hospitals across England.
Appointed firms are Bovis Construction, Dragados, Integrated Health Projects (a joint venture of Sir Robert McAlpine and Vinci Building), John Graham Construction, Kier Construction, Laing O’Rourke Delivery, Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure, Sacyr, Skanska, Wilmott Dixon Construction.
The Department for Education has appointed WSP to its Technical Advisory Service 2025 (TAS) framework. The four-year framework covers technical advisory services supporting delivery of the DfE capital programme.
WSP will provide project, cost and commercial management, alongside design, surveys and construction oversight.
National Grid Electricity Transmission and SP Energy Networks have awarded contracts worth around £3bn for the Eastern Green Link 4 subsea cable project.
Prysmian and Siemens Energy have been confirmed as key suppliers for cable systems and converter stations.
The scheme will link Scotland and England to increase north - south electricity transfer capacity. The project supports reinforcement of the grid for offshore wind integration.
Ofgem has shortlisted bidders for the offshore transmission owner (OFTO) licenses covering North Sea transmission assets; final awards have not yet been made.
The programme covers transmission links connecting offshore wind farms to the onshore grid.

Great British Energy – Nuclear has awarded a £300m contract to the Amentum–Cavendish Nuclear joint venture.
The Litmus Nuclear JV will act as owner’s engineer for the UK’s first SMR programme at Wylfa. The long-term role (up to 14 years) covers technical oversight across design, safety, construction and commissioning.
Great British Energy – Nuclear has also appointed Arup for early-phase engineering and design at Wylfa.
Arup, supported by LDA Design, TÜV SÜD Nuclear Technologies and Gleeds, will deliver foundation engineering, planning and cost support for the Rolls-Royce SMR project.
UK Industrial Fusion Solutions has awarded the ILIOS consortium as construction partner for the £200m STEP fusion project at West Burton, Nottinghamshire.
ILIOS, led by a Kier–Nuvia joint venture and supported by AECOM, Amanda Levete Architects and Turner & Townsend, will act as principal design and build contractor.
The prototype fusion plant is targeted to become operational by 2040.
Heathrow has appointed Turner & Townsend and AtkinsRéalis to a PMO framework for its expansion programme.
The five-year agreement, with an option to extend by a further five, covers programme and project management across infrastructure projects.
Severn Trent has awarded Costain a £45m contract to upgrade sewage treatment works. Costain will deliver improvements to treatment processes and site infrastructure to enhance performance and capacity.
The scheme forms part of Severn Trent’s wider investment programme to meet environmental standards and support population growth.
Wirral Council has appointed 53 contractors to a four-year, £1.2bn framework covering construction, infrastructure and demolition work across the North West.
The framework, run with Procure Partnerships, includes multiple lots for schemes of varying values and will be open to other public sector bodies.
It will support public sector projects across the North West from 1st April 2026.
